HELLO dear Students

Allow us to present you with a tutorial for our Online Lessons via Google Meet

1) Invitation for online Lesson

First, you’ll receive an email containing all the necessary information about upcoming Online Lesson. The print screen on the left shows where to find: Course Name, Location, Invitation link and (or) phone number to connect to and attendance.

For your attendance to be counted in, you have to select YES in “Going” section at the bottom of email.
The “When” section also shows the time of the Online Lesson, so you know when to connect for this particular Online Lesson.

2) Joining lesson from different devices

You can you use various devices to connect to the Online Lesson, such as PC, laptop, Android or iOS mobile device or even a phone call.

In this window, you’ll see presentations and other materials that instructor shares with you.

3) Captions

Captions is feature that turns voice into the written text.

How to turn them on:

In Browser:

In the bottom right corner you can find the Turn on captions button.

Mobile Device:

In the top right corner of the screen select Three Dots button -> Turn on Captions

4) Questions and Answers

Please find the link to questions and answers at the screen that is being presented (see the top in Online Lesson image) or in lesson chat (see image below).

(Middle Button moves you to Chat)

After following the link, you will be redirected to a separate page (left image) where you can ask your instructor questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a slow internet, so what I can do to make it run smoothly?

Please try to use different browser. For example Google Chrome is known to take up lot of RAM of your device, so you can try Microsoft Edge, Safari (iOS), Opera or Firefox.
You can also turn off apps/programs that are using the Internet.

Feel free to you ask the Front Office if they can provide you recorded lesson.

Where can i set up my webcam and microphone?

In Web Browser:

The Three Dots in the bottom right corner will take you to menu, where you can select Settings

[Audio / Video Settings]

Use it to setup your Audio and Video Devices, Video resolution and test your speakers.

I see only other students in Lesson, but not the Instructor?

If the instructor is not present or does not present anything, please wait until the class starts.

In Web Browser:

The Three Dots Button in the bottom right corner will take you to menu, where you can select Settings -> Change Layout

Other possibility is to open the People (People icon) menu in the top right corner and by clicking on the image of the instructor (whiteboard@flyingacademy.com). This will pin the instructor to your main view.

Sound is making weird noises, I can't hear anything.

Try to disable your microphone. If it doesn’t help, you can write about your issue into the chat and our instructor will try to help you.
